| You know,
sometimes it's o.k. to shed the armor and let the child be heard. This
commissioned piece was inspired by the lyrics to a song, including the
phrase "beneath the armor, the warrior is a child." I perceive those of us
choosing to see life differently, beyond the fog, "outside the box" as it
were, as warriors. We fight the dream of the planet and all of it's
dysfunctional messages. The battleground is our own minds, and victory
comes to those who are able to return to their child-like state of
acceptance, joy, and judgment free wonder. O.k., done preaching now. :-) This was my most ambitious undertaking to date, including the largest canvas at 4' x 5', the most elaborate composition, and the most detail. I stopped logging after well over 100 hours of painting alone, not including the photo shoot. Numerous and varied techniques were employed, including glazing, impasto, heavy gel glossing, dry-retardant, dry brush, and even some spray paint.
