Firstly, WELCOME to the list all those who signed up at shows spanning from Arizona to Georgia, from New Orleans to St Louis, and from mid March through mid May! Secondly, for those who've been receiving the REStevensArt Newsletter for a while, please forgive the long delay! I completely underestimated how hectic my travel schedule was going to be during this spring run of shows, and was already well over a month behind in getting info out to y'all. Then I got home and was promptly laid out with the worst case of tonsillitis I've ever had! For almost 10 days I was quite useless. Hopefully I'll have made up for it below! I have lots of new artwork to share with y'all, including something I stumbled upon by accident. You've all seen my latest series of fruit splash paintings - either in person, or here in the newsletter. Well, I accidentally changed the background on one of them as I was preparing to make a giclee reproduction and I LOVED how it looked! I'm going to offer this altered version as a series of limited edition reproductions, and have decided to make the same offer I made when I first introduced the paintings - see below.
 


Newsletter subscribers can purchase a 9"x24" signed and numbered, giclee on canvas reproduction of any of the "fruit splash" series paintings (above) for $150 stretched or $100 un-stretched. This is HALF OFF the usual price on that size. Just toss me a note indicating which ones you like, including your address for an accurate shipping quote. And remember that even on these specials, I am happy to accept payments over time on a credit or debit card at no extra charge.

     I don't recall if I mentioned in here previously that I had donated my mixed media piece 'paper plane I' to the Zimmer Children's Museum for their newest show&tell charity exhibition. The opening was on Thursday, April 29, from 6pm - 9pm.

     I was flattered to learn that my piece actually sold the week prior to the event, to Stanley Gold, a collector who had purchased one of my first "just words" typewriters in 2008.

(right) I flew from St Louis, where I was preparing for the Art Fair at Laumeier back to Los Angeles to attend the event which ultimately raised over $90,000 for their charity.

(below) - "just words VIII" - similar in size to numbers VI and VII, this is the first one for which I used copper drawer pulls and plumbing parts. I've got numbers IX and X (the smallest one yet) underway! This one measures 33" wide x 40" tall x 8" deep and sells for $3,600. Or I can be commissioned to do different sizes and different color combinations.

(below) "three balloons crayon on paper" - Including this hand made shadow box, the overall dimensions on this one is 36"x48" and is en route to its new home in Australia!!! :)

(below) "storming the castle crayon on paper" - This piece measures 20"x20" and became an instant hit! In fact it was sold before it was finished as I worked on it at the Main Street Ft Worth show, and then spawned two more commissions of similar pieces. 
"three balloons" - crayon and acrylic on plastic in a wooden shadow box - overall dimensions are 36"x48"x6" deep.

     If you've got a favorite children's drawing you'd like immortalized in REStevensArt fashion, I can be commissioned to create various sized replicas of loose leaf paper with subject matter specific to you or your family! Prices range from $600 to $3200 depending on size. Just toss me a note and I'll fill you on the details and send you more samples!
