Hello everyone!!!
Well, I thought I'd check in - approximately half-way
through my Florida schedule. Welcome to the list, all folks who joined up at
this past weekend's Coconut Grove Arts Festival, and the Mt Dora Festival
the previous weekend (and there are quite a few!)
Those of you in Southern Florida, who would like
another chance to visit the roaming REStevensArt gallery, might want to seek
me out at the South Florida Rotary Arts Festival this weekend on Sunset!
This is a last minute show lineup so I wont know until the morning of the
show, where I'll be and I don't think I'll have the mixed media
pieces on display, but I will have plenty-o-paintings!
And on the subject of mixed media - to the right you
can see the latest 'crayon drawing II' installation. I had jr. take this
photo with me next to it to demonstrate the size of the piece (48"x60"). I
must admit, I'm having a bit of a love affair with the 'giant paper'
concept. I've got two more pieces about half way done as well. Both are
quite different than these first ones (and not as large) and I'm excited
to get them finished up, asap!

Before I continue - I'm still trying to work out some bugs in distributing
the "noozleddar" through my ISP, and it appears that sometimes my background
is not showing up correctly. You should be seeing this section as a
goldenrod text over black background. For that matter, please let me know if
any aspect of the graphics or text seem to not be working properly.

Moving right along - below is the latest in the "apple
splash" series! This is the first time I've painted it as a red apple, and
the first time I've used the square format. I have a similar piece with a
green apple which I will share in the next issue.

Lastly! I am extending an
invitation to all those who receive my "noozleddar" to look for me on
Facebook! I am learning to keep things updated on there fairly regularly
regarding new artwork, show schedule, and just daily goings on. It's been
fun stuff, and I realize that a lot of folks might get a kick out of the
frequent updates on there. Look for Roderick E. Stevens in Arizona. Be sure
to include the middle initial, or else you'll just find Roderick Jr. - who
is indeed a fun fella, but he's too busy socializing with his band to spread
much info around about my art. :)
I am excited to keep sharing my work around Florida
these next few weeks, especially when I hear how cold it's been at home!
