REStevensArt News 42 - 11/25/08   -   www.restevensart.com
                           (like candy canes, eh?)

Firstly! Welcome to the list, for those of you who have just joined up from these recent SoCal and Az shows! Honestly, while sales have been a bit hesitant, the numbers don't seem to reflect the doom and gloom of the media, and I'm sure grateful. Even when I'm not selling as well as I'd like, I talk to other artists who are having great shows. Otherwise, the weather has been GORGEOUS, and I've gotten some more work done.

For instance, I finally finished the "rescued" painting I've been working on for a few weeks. This is the piece I'm donating to the local fire department for them to use as an auction item / fund-raiser. Additionally, they want to offer matted prints at their assorted appearances throughout the year as another fund-raising item, and then intend to make giclee reproductions as a gift to their retiring firemen and women.

It has been a fun project to work on, and I will be finishing it up hopefully this weekend whilst in Palm Springs at the Frances Stevens Park.

Having been consumed with building the house, and then finally moving into it
(Roderick Jr. and I have now lived in it for a month), I've been oft oblivious to the date.
So it suddenly occurred to me as I started to put this noozleddar together, that

CHRISTMAS IS UPON US!

To that end, and in light of the current economic woes I decided to hold a

50% OFF EVERYTHING
Just for December!

This includes:
Originals!
Giclee Reproductions!
Matted Prints!
Calendars!
Eggrolls!
My cat!

As many of you now, this isn't something I do often. In fact, I've only ever offered this sort of discount ONCE before, so don't get too used to it! :-)  Also, Keep in mind that if you want to get something in time for Christmas, be sure to order by December 12th in case I don't have what you want in stock. This is 50% off of the normal retail price, and cannot be combined with other discounts, such as those I frequently offer to noozleddar subscribers, including the auctions, printer's proofs, etc. For instance the calendar is normally $20 retail, not the $15 I've offered here, so they are $10 for the month of December. I am still happy to honor the 5th calendar free with the purchase of 4 calendars at this price. To avoid confusion, it is probably best to simply TOSS ME A NOTE to roderick@restevensart.com regarding what you are interested in & where it will ship to, and I will follow up with an exact price, including shipping.

HEY!!! The 2009
"Show Schedule"
is now updated through March!

Speaking of the calendars, the first ones shipped last week, and THE REVIEWS ARE IN!!!!

D. Ramage exclaimed "Got the package just fine yesterday.  Yay!  Turned out wonderful, thank you! "

R. Rogers declared "Rod, The calendars are fabulous.  I will gift these with pleasure."

M. Warsaw wrote "These are great! It's got numbers and names of months and everything! I love pickles!"

o.k., I made that one up.

D. McAden squealed with delight (bet you didn't know one can squeal with delight in an email) "Received the calendars.  They are wonderful!  I'd like to order more if they are still available."

Indeed they are!!!! I now have them in stock, and will be selling them at art shows, and in stores for $20, until supplies run out. As subscribers to the 'noozleddar list', you can still get them for a measly $15 (that's 40% OFF) plus $5 shipping to anywhere in the U.S. ($10 for most international destinations).

It even comes with a 12"x18" print of "Sunset & Harley".  That's larger than the matted print that normally sells for $80, and it is included with the 2009 REStevensArt calendar FOR FREE!!!!

And don't forget, if you order 4 calendars, I'll send you a 5th one FREE!

I must get this sent out, and finish packing up for the show this weekend in Palm Springs. Please, everyone have a safe, enjoyable, family and friends-filled, peaceful, and grateful Thanksgiving day!!!! I know for me personally, I am absolutely overwhelmed with all I have to be grateful for, regardless of the difficulties that might arise on a daily basis.

I don't know how many of you may have heard about this recent 'escalator' mishap at Universal Studios. Not a major disaster by any stretch; eight people went to the hospital with injuries when an upward bound escalator suddenly started dropping backwards. My son and I were on it, quickly approaching a fast accumulating pile of folks at the bottom. A few elder folks, and at least one little girl were knocked down and getting buried, etc. Once Jr and I lept over the pile, we helped get people out of the way and check on them until park employees arrived. What I note from the experience is that while Roderick and I are relatively young, physical fella's, for people who are generally much more dependent on the environment around them (for instance children and elderly), it can be quite frightening, and in the long run disheartening to be so abrubtly reminded of how fragile we all are, and how much we are at the mercy of the universe around us.

It reminds me to pay particular attention to the many blessings in my life. Thank you all for reading.
