Hello everyone! And welcome to the list all those
who signed up at last month's Port Clinton show, where several pieces,
including the latest "apple splash"
painting (below) found new Highland Park homes. I actually have LOTS of new
art to share with y'all, but this is already a cram-packed noozleddar, so
I'll have to dole them out over upcoming issues. Meanwhile, here are 4 muy
importante' items for you to peruse as I get back to finishing my septic
system at the HOUSE. |

#1:
DONATIONS!!!!
I suspect some folks grow weary of the broken
record that sometimes is Roderick E. Stevens, but I can't emphasize enough
how much I need input, suggestions, and contacts to donate art to. As many
of you have heard me explain, I feel an incredible amount of gratitude for
having been given the passion to create, and the ability to execute it. I
believe strongly that God did not give me these gifts to keep to myself, and I
feel quite compelled to "share the wealth" as it were. If you know of any
organizations, etc. that can use artwork as donations, for bartering, as
auction items, etc. PLEASE let me know asap!
Recent examples are some prints and giclees for "Rainbow Days" in Dallas,
and Boys And Girls Club in Phoenix, and in November I will be
painting live on TV and the finished piece which will be auctioned off at
the end
for a fund-raiser in Bisbee, Az. |

(above) Of course, this may look familiar. "apple splash IV" was based on
the same reference photograph as "apple splash II" (just can't get
enough of that water), but I decided to paint it 48" tall rather than 36".

#2: AFFORDABLE ART!!!
I also want to remind folks of two of the ways I like
to make my art more affordable.
#1 - Unstretched giclee's. Rather than mounted and ready to hang; I take
$300 off the large canvasses, and $200 off the medium ones, and then you
take them to any local frame shop (Michael's, etc.) and have them stretched
- generally for much less than the discount. I sign, number, varnish,
and ship the piece rolled in a tube, which also saves you on shipping.
#2 - Purchases on a credit card can be spread out over time. Generally 3 to
6 months depending on the total. I ship you the art at the first payment,
and charge the remaining installments on the 1st or 15th of each subsequent
month.
If you're interested in a piece of art, just let me
know which one and I'll get you the details. |
