REStevensArt News 52 - 06/09/08   -   www.restevensart.com

Howdy everyone! I hope the Summer has kicked off nicely for you. Firstly, if your email service is through SBCGlobal.net, please let me know if you've received this. I've been duking it out with Yahoo (apparently the new owners of SBCGlobal) for three months trying to get their system to stop rejecting the "noozleddars". They say they've finally fixed it - but  .  .  .

Secondly, I thought I'd share (right) my son's band performing at the city park here in Sierra Vista last weekend.

Go check out the 'gallery' at www.restevensart.com! If there's something you're interested in, just toss me a note or give me a call and I'll let you know what the final price is ONLY through the end of this month.

(above) Still plugging away at the giant functional sculpture that is destined to be a home one day. It's just Jr. and I these days, and we are focused on getting the west wing (right side) done, so we can stay there whilst we finish the rest of the house. Click on the picture above, or go to http://www.restevensart.com/House/house_home.htm  and scroll down to see the latest progress.

Here I would like to share one of my favorite quotes. It is from Marianne Williamson's book "A Return To Love", but is often misattributed to Nelson Mandela (who said a lot of other great things).

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure
It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves;
'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?'
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are the child of God.
Your playing small doesn't serve the world.
There is nothing enlightening about shrinking so that
Other people around you won't feel insecure.
We are all meant to shine as children do.
We are born to manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone.
And as we let our light shine, we unconsciously give
Other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence
Automatically releases others.

Take a look at the upcoming schedule of shows for 2008! You'll see lots of new festivals I've not shown at before.

Since I won't be putting out another 'noozleddar' for another couple of weeks, here's a pre-emptive HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!!!  (Sunday, June 15th)

Meanwhile, many of you may be excited to hear that I'm finally moving forward on some "martini" paintings! Below is a sneak peak at one of the over 200 reference photographs I've taken so far. Note - this is the ref. photo - not a part of a painting. :-)

I hope to work on these paintings next month whilst I'm rolling about the Rocky Mtns attending some Colorado art shows! Meanwhile, I gotta get back to digging my last bit of septic trench, so I can flush my new toilet!!!! :-)
