Another
Texas collector enjoyed my "soap" pieces so much, he asked me to do a series
for his own personal brand of natural, hand poured soaps. Of course
not wanting to simply repeat myself, I came up with the idea of capturing
the instant the bar of soap splashes into a body of water. It took over 100 photographs to come up with the few that I then fused together to create the reference image I wanted. There will be four paintings of four different bars, each with a change in perspective and background to compliment each individual type of soap. When they are all done, I will post a page about them. |

(above) "green
apple" Due to popular demand, I've finally given in to creating matted prints of some of these latest 'square' paintings. So many people at the last several shows have asked about prints especially of the fruit pieces, and the guitars. (below) "music store I" |
| These are 7"x7" images, printed with archival pigments (not inkjet dyes) onto archival paper, then double matted into a 12"x12" piece, which fits many 'scrap-booking', and 'album cover' frames. They are shipped with an acid free backing board, in a clear protective bag. |

Like
the 11"x14" matted prints, these will be priced at $40 at the shows, but you
all can take advantage of my Ebay auctions and potentially pick them up for
a fraction of that price. Otherwise, I don't imagine I'll get as much done on my house as I'd like this month. Just a reminder that I am spending March showing in Arizona (Scottsdale & Tucson), and SoCal (Indian Wells), then making my Texas run (Austin, Ft. Worth, Southlake) in April, and then will take the remainder of the year off until October so I can finish my house. I recently became obsessively (like most artists) inspired by a particular subject which I began painting at the ArtiGras show, so I hope to have a series of new pieces to share here in a couple of weeks when I return from Scottsdale! Until then, thanks for reading and for collecting! Roderick roderick@cinema-vista.com (323)353-8202 |
