My son and I carved pumpkins last night, and this (right) is what I came up with.

My friend Johnny snapped this picture of me on top of the van, during the frantic rainy breakdown at the Bayou City Art Festival!

Meanwhile .  .  .

They say it never rains in California  .  .  . but last weekend I wud'n in California, and it DO rain in Houston, Texas! Holy Mackeral! I've never seen so much rainfall at one time in my life, and we get some pretty impressive rains during monsoon season here in Az. Unfortunately, the Bayou City Art Festival was completely rained out on Sunday. By 2:00p.m. my booth, art, and 50lbs. of soaked clothing (including kilt) were leaving the area. The rain and flooding continued into Monday, overflowing the bayou's, covering the streets, and making its way onto CNN!

Then the next weekend in Galveston wasn't much better as rain and muggy heat were followed by more rain and a bitter chill, and wind gusts the demolished the display booths of a dozen of my fellow artists. Sheesh! I guess I picked a bad week to visit Southeast Texas! Nevertheless, visit I did, and I welcome all you folks who signed up for the Noozleddar at those shows.

I began working on a fun new piece at these shows, and hope to finish it up soon and share it in the next Noozleddar! In the meantime, I want to remind everyone of my -

MOVING SALE!!!!

As I begin construction on my house (who'da thunk I'd feel guilty for cutting down some mesquite trees already), I am starting to pack things up here. I've got some inventory I want desperately to move, and so I have decided to discount several pieces. These are some of the first giclee on canvas reproductions I assembled in the beginning, back when I was mounting on standard stretcher bars, and making my own frames.

These are same quality reproductions as any that I sell at shows, but are simply stretched on standard thickness stretcher strips, and are ready for framing. Some are already IN frames, and they have the added benefit of being even earlier numbers in the series. I am offering them for 30% off and more. Several pieces sold after the last Noozleddar, so following is a list of what is left.

end table

This was my very first painting for sale, and has consistently been one of the best sellers since the very first art show I displayed at.

end table

#18/200 = 24"X30" - reg price $895, available now for
$595

#06/200 = 16"x20" - reg price $495, available now for

Sunday

If any of these pieces interest you, just toss me a note and I will let you know which ones are in frames, or could be put in frames I have, etc. These prices are without frames, but if I have any on hand to fit a piece you want, I will include it for free!

#10/200, #11/200, and - #12/200

all = 15"X27" - reg price $495, available now for
$295

'33 Chev

#02/200, # 03/300, and #04/200

all = 16"X24" - reg price $495, available now for
$295

It is only in putting this Noozleddar together that I realize that everyone of these pieces has won an award at some point.  '33 was the very first one of my paintings to win an award. I will be driving by this very car every day on my way to the lot where I am building.

52.5

#01/200 = 32"x48" - reg price $1895, available now for
$1,195!

This is one of only two paintings I have ever decided to 'blow up' into this large reproduction size. I think it looks great! And it just so happens that this is the very first giclee I stretched of this painting

#18/200 = 16"X24" - reg price $495, available now for $295

"52.5" was the very first REStevensArt original to sell!  I'll never forget that bit -o- sadness as I was packing up my display for the first time without this painting.

I got over it though. :-)

November 16th

#04/200 = 16"X24" - reg price $495, available now for
$295

November 16th was my first venture into the idea of adding a 3rd dimension, or layer onto the 'unfinished' painting, and it continues to be a favorite among many collectors.

I've got a couple of originals I plan on discounting shortly as well, as I work at emptying my walls  - but I will get into that in the next Noozleddar!

I would also like to mention that I was recently invited to list some of my work at a new art-auction site called -

Check it out and let me know what you think!

Check out other upcoming 2006 shows at the "Show Schedule"

Next weekend I will be loitering about the Wild Holly Gallery on Easy Street, in Carefree, Az. I'll be working on (and hopefully finishing) the Painted Pony, and possibly one or two other paintings while I'm there.  If you're in Az, and are hoping to see any of my new pieces, you may want to try and make a trip up to Carefree (just north of Scottsdale). After this one, I am only scheduled for one other show for the rest of 2006; the 4th Avenue Street Fair in Tucson on December 8th, 9th, and 10th. I'll toss out a reminder as that show draws near.

Otherwise, I am keeping things empty for the next three months while I get started on my giant sculpture (my house :-). Then next February I'm due to trek across the country to Florida.

Thanks all for reading! Talk to ya' L8R!
