Feliz Cinco De Mayo all !!!!

![]() above: One of my visitors to the Main Street Ft. Worth was DFW Metro Cinematographer R Scott Wilson! This man photographed my first feature film, and was one of my initial inspirations for pursuing cinematography myself! It was great seeing him for the first time in 10 years. You can check out his "Wandering Golfer" |

One of the fun results was the number of folks who were subsequently
‘inspired’ to paint upon visiting my booth. Besides the numerous emails I
received to that effect; when I visited an art supply store in Ft. Worth
immediately following that show, I encountered two other customers
purchasing paints and brushes, who specifically had their artistic passions
rekindled after having seen my work at the show . Then as we were all
checking out, the cashier himself had also been inspired over the weekend,
specifically by my art. That’s some good fun stuff! * I sold more on Saturday at Main Street Ft. Worth than I've ever sold at an entire show before. * Sunday's sales were similarly strong and equaled in that one day what I normally make at a good show. * When most artists were closed up and getting rested for the next day, my last sale on Saturday at Main Street was after 10:00 p.m. And it was an original no less! I couldn't leave my booth until 11:00 p.m.! * The aforementioned original was - "Blown Mopar", which has never been seen here as it was never completed. They loved it as is and have given it a new home in Ft. Worth, Texas. * The next weekend in Southlake, Tx. ended up becoming my second best show ever (surpassed only by Main Street Ft. Worth, of course). * This “Noozledder Mailing List” doubled just from these two shows. Ft. Worth alone added more than five times the number of folks than at the next highest show. * “soap” has officially surpassed “Sunset & Harley” as the biggest seller. * The newcomer “flash-faucet” was also a hit, selling three reproductions . . . and I hadn’t even made them yet. I had to find someone in the Ft. Worth area to help me get that done while I was there. * I had six different, unassociated people at two different shows ask me about "martini" paintings. Methinks I'll be putting that on the "to-do" list. O.k., 'nuff braggin'! :-) |

Below is a piece that sort of slipped through the cracks here on the list. It's called "rose shadow" and was started at the Desert Arts Festival in Palm Springs. This diptych received a lot of attention at the subsequent shows, for the 3-dimensional effect of the rose pedals on the surface of the painting. The digital images on the website do not do this piece justice. |

This intense red cannot be reproduced, so in fact I am re-painting the rose pedals on each and every giclee on canvas reproduction - the first of which sold at Main St. Fort Worth - as a graduation present. The original was also first eyed at Main Street as well by Nancy (below) who then came back to Southlake the following weekend to acquire it. It comes in full size reproductions of 30"x30" panels, and in a smaller size of two, 20"x20" panels.

| Well, as much fun as I'm having at these shows, I am slowing down the tour schedule now. I NEED TIME TO PAINT! Ironically, as I say that, I also want to announce that I will be spending the month of June working on a feature film in San Diego (my previous day-job). I will still be doing the two shows on my schedule, but won't get to paint anymore until July. My plan is to take July off completely, only do the two shows in Colorado in August, and I'm not sure about September yet. I really want to set aside sufficient time to generate more work for some of the galleries. And on that note - much work to do before I head up to Las Vegas next week! TTFN |
