In other news - I've come to realize that I am driving a mobile billboard around to all of these shows. I travel an average of 3000 miles per month to different cities in different states, almost exclusively to fairly affluent areas in this big white advertising surface. Since I've no plans on utilizing that space for myself at the moment, I'm PUTTING IT UP FOR LEASE!!! If you know of any businesses that could benefit from such exposure, please let me know, as I would love to offer someone some affordable yet targeted advertising and put this space to better use (not to mention help pay for the van :-) . |

I'll take this opportunity to let you all know that I'm aggressively brewing up some alternative methods for generating income for myself and making some manifestations of my art more affordable for people as well. I hope to disclose the details by the next newsletter! In fact, I've been so involved with this next stage that I almost forgot to get this "noozledder" out! |

I know I suggested I might reveal my new line of deconstructed photorealism by this issue, but they're not quite ready yet. These new pieces take a bit more time and effort to complete than my other works. In the mean time I DO have a tasty treat I recently finished. Named so for quite obvious reasons, this is "Gellow". That's right. Not Jell-O which is a trademarked name, but "Gellow". I am officially into Phase II of my art career. I've explained to many of you that all of these paintings have been my art school, challenging myself with various subject matter as I learn how to do what I do. Well, kindergarten is officially over and this is my "commencement" painting. 1st Grade here I come!!! |

THIS has been a fun piece, and was prompted by the enthusiasm that's
followed "soap". I can tell you that seeing these images on-line most
definitely does not do this one justice! The four feet in height really
strengthens the impact of it, and I hope at least some of you get to see it
in person at some point! I am really enjoying the concept of diving into the
middle of the subject and making it larger than life. Many of you know of my
occasional pattern of painting objects "on top" of the canvas, and I
originally added a few spoons to this one, but my first test audience (my
own instincts and my children) all concurred that this one was better left
as just the primary subject. |
