First of all - HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!!!

That's right! It's Official TODAY! I can finally gamble legally, and drink real sarsaparilla - (not the diet stuff)!

Secondly - WOW - I just took another look at the lineup for the Main Street Fort Worth show in April. I'll be in heaven! If you click HERE you can see a list of the invited artists and their websites, sorted by category. I'll be there, under 'painting' - as soon as they update their page! GREAT STUFF! I cannot wait to walk that festival myself, and I'm sure excited to have been invited to show alongside these folks! I've got a lot of work to do though, since I can only display originals at that show, and I'm running a bit thin! MUST PAINT MORE!!!!!

Meanwhile, I’ve just returned from the Southwest Arts Festival in Indio, California. What a show! The setting was gorgeous, the weather superb, and the collection of fine artists and crafts-folk inspiring! We (the artists) were treated to a great buffet at the nearby Fantasy Springs Casino and Resort, during an awards ceremony at which I received a third place ribbon for my work! NEAT! While there, I continued to explore various manifestations of “soap” which continues to draw enthusiasm from visitors.

Before I go any further - a word from our sponsor - Lawley Automotive Group. O.k. - well, they're not really a sponsor, but I promised another shout-out for these guys. Randy Pierson and Brian Slack have taken care of me for four car purchases in a row including this latest growth into a bigger cargo van to haul myself around to these art shows. They (and Otis Washington) bent over further than backwards to get me into a vehicle better suited to my needs at an insanely good price, and I'm happy to sing their praises! SO! This week's newsletter is brought to you by "Lawley Honda/Nissan" in Sierra Vista (520)459-2000  :-) O.k. - nuff -o- dat!

Meanwhile, below is another variation on "Four Soaps" created while in Indio. It's hard to see in this image, but the individually mounted soaps (each approx. 10"x10") are set about 1/2" inch from the satin black background board which creates a nice "floating" effect.

I've just taken some reference photos for some upcoming pieces I'm quite excited about (as usual). This weekend, I plan on finally making some headway on my 'patiently pining Painted Pony'.

Lastly, I must apologize to folks who are getting this is plain old text. Some folks are getting filtered at their end, but for some reason a lot of servers that used to keep this here noozledder intact, are breaking it down from html nowadays. Additionally, those with Yahoo (and possibly others) are getting the correct formatting, but no pictures visible (you know that familar red x). When I change the settings to correct this, it creates the opposite effect for other servers, etc. etc. I'm still trying to learn if there is anything I can do on my end to keep it all purty like for everyone - or at least for as many of you as possible.

Well! Much work to do, and I must get to it - so I will send this off now!
