Welcome BACK all!

As mentioned previously, I took this past weekend off to (among other things) watch my son march in the Christmas Parade here in Sierra Vista, Az. (see right!) MAN, what a cool uniform!

The previous weekend I attended the "Desert Arts Festival" in Palm Springs and prior to that, the Artfest of Scottsdale at the Civic Center. These were two great shows, and I loved my locations in both! Thank you!!! to all of my visitors at these shows!

COMING UP!
THIS WEEKEND!!!

4th Avenue Street Fair
December 9th, 10th, & 11th

The Street Fair takes place between Ninth Street and University Blvd. along Fourth Avenue. Free to the public, the Fourth Avenue Street Fair brings together 400 arts and crafts booths, 35 food vendors, 4 stages, street musicians, food, jugglers, street performers, kids entertainment, face painting, balloons, and tons of other fun activities, then packs them into three days of celebration. The Fourth Avenue Street Fair began in 1970 when Fourth Avenue merchants put tables in front of their stores to attract customers before the holidays. From that beginning it has developed into one of the premier street fairs in the nation, drawing crowds of 200,000 to 350,000 and ranking as one of the top visual arts fairs in the country. There is something for everyone at the Street Fair. Come for the shopping: 400 booths featuring arts and crafts that cover the spectrum from fine art to country crafts. Glass, clay, wood, clothing, metal, jewelry, pre-packaged food, all hand made by the artist/craftsperson. The two annual Street Fairs are Tucson’s biggest events!

So, OF COURSE at both of these recent shows, I forgot to get a picture of me in my booth! I never remember until I'm breaking down! Well, at least I got a shot of my booth (sans me) in Palm Springs. What a gorgeous setting at Frances Stevens Park! I'll be back for sure! In fact, I'm hoping to be there for President's Day weekend (Feb. 18, 19, 20)!

Some bad news (as it were) is that I am not presently in the Coda Gallery as I projected I would be. The GREAT news is that it's due to the fact that I sold TWO MORE ORIGINALS!! Indeed, "End Table" (below left) and "Sunday" (below right) are both hanging in new digs in the Palm Springs area! This left me with such a small body of originals that it wasn't worth setting up at Coda just yet. Back to the easel for me so I can generate some more art! What a LIFE to be blessed with!

I had to apologize to the purchaser of End Table as my enthusiasm for the sale was a tad strained by the feeling of another child moving out. This was really my first painting for sale, and was originally just a 'practice' piece as I prepared to do "52.5" (which sold recently as well).

I just have to keep reminding myself that art is created to be shared and that none of it really belongs to me anyway.   This clears out all three of those first "Coke bottle" paintings!

Between these sales, and my conversation with the folks at Coda, I am now pondering some new works along the same 'theme'.

Well, it took two weekend shows and then some to complete this piece, but here is "leaving". Since I'll be attending the Russo And Steele Auto Auction in January, I thought it wise to do a "car" painting. Of course not just a typically realistic representation of a car! As I got into this piece, it was gradually revealed just how strong the tree reflections really are, and I decided to focus on them, including to the point of adding a few "fallen leaves" to the 'finished piece'.

Lastly, I am now in possession of the marble horse sculpture for the "Trail Of The Painted Ponies" project! Just for fun - I will post updates to my progress on this piece. Unfortunately, I won't really be able to work on it further until January - but for now I mounted it onto a 2"x10" board for stability, and then watched as the cat and my daughter's pug, George tried to figure out what the heck it is!
I'm off now to prepare for the 4th Ave. Street fair for this weekend. Then I'm "out of the art show circuit" for 5 weeks - and boy do I need it! I have a few pretty big projects I'm working on that I'm anxious to share with everyone. The next "noozledder" will probably be sometime shortly before Christmas. Thanks again for visiting!

Talk to y'all L8R,
