The garage is almost finished here. Garage doors should be up in August, and I still need to build my 'obelisks'.
We built the East wing floor on steel/concrete piers sunk into the ground. We then painted the decking with porch paint to protect it during monsoons!

Roderick pt. III and a friend clean up around the East wing with one wall partially up.
Two walls now up on the East wing.

The East wing cap wall with raw (unsculptured) parapets, and window openings.
Atop each wall a trough is grooved out and filled with concrete, forming a bond-beam. Rebar, and studs for the roof rafters are placed in the trough.
Meanwhile, I'm starting to drill for the West wing piers.
I was excited to integrate these pecky cedar beams into various structural (yet decorative) elements.

I cannot get over how different the world looks when I'm at the lot; and the monsoons just add to the beauty!
The concrete is poured into the steel posts and styroformed beam.
The final floor concrete is DONE!!!!! No more concrete trucks! (but don't think I'm done with my concrete love affaire).
The steel roof rafters are put up on the East wing.
Welcome monsoon season!!!!
Last minute layout changes included building a pop-out section for the garden tub in the master bedroom.
Another fabulous spectacle!!!

While enclosing the East wing, I also began getting the West wing put together. Again starting with the concrete/culvert piers, TJI joists, etc.
