AUGUST '08

BACK to "House Home"

Kind of a whacky schedule. I was actually gone most of July and just about all of August. I flew home for ONE WEEK in between shows in Colorado and then Chicago in order to plow forward as much as possible and achieve a 95% inspection from my lender. These are the few pictures from that sprint. I got to 94.581%! Unfortunately, the idea was that I could then close out the construction loan, but after two years of rigorous communication, my lender suddenly informs me that I need just ONE MORE piece of paper from my County, and the County further explains that I must get two inspections from them in order to receive this document. More importantly, I learned all of this whilst I was driving - a few hours outside of Chicago! Needless to say, nothing further happened (and I did not roll out of my construction loan) until October.

Jr's room is finishing up nicely. Closet hardware is in, floor has two coats of polyurethane, and most of the painting is done.

Walls and ceiling in the 2nd bedroom (my bedroom for now) are textured and painted and ready for floor and trim.

Here we've got the subfloor in on the lower level of the West wing - 2nd bedroom and lower hallway.

We installed the only carpeting in the whole house here in the den.

Though it's part of the den, it is sort of it's own area - the library. I covered this walkway leading to the master bedroom, with hardwood planks.
