BACK to "House Home"

My goal was to be completely closed in by September 1st, with the exception of the roof over the loft, for which I will be building some special REStevens engineered trusses. I came MIGHTY close. We were amid putting the dining room roof up when it began pouring rain on Sept 1st.

The East wing rafters are up!

Brian and Scott gettin' groovy with roof-bound foam panels.

The East wing starts getting its roof panels set in place.

Roderick part III connects some plumbing pipes . . . reluctantly. I can't say he's enjoying this process as much as I am. :-)

Pouring concrete steps into very simple styrofoam forms. These will end up as stairs into the West wing (the office is not oval).

I was mighty excited to start putting my pecky cedar into use as various post & beam arrangements.

Septic tank in place . . . except I later learned it needed to be moved about 30' North. Septic budget is now nearly doubled. :-(

Brian works on assembling the roof rafters for the West wing.

The West wing roof rafters going up.

Another of the many daily reminders of why I'm building here.

Ever wonder why all the pictures of progress show Brian doing all the work?

The West wing taking shape.

Good friend Chris joined us for a foam and steel party!

HEY! It's starting to look like the drawings!
