This is a piece I wanted to do for a couple of years, but had a hard time getting to in between building the house for two years. I'm glad I finally got to it! This proved to be another one of those examples whereby the reference photograph certainly looked great, but the image REALLY came to life as a painting! I'm particularly fond of the folds and embroidery in the flag.
